Julie Wainwright, the founder and CEO of luxury consignment shop TheRealReal, only paid $6.75 million for a condominium in New York City’s iconic Woolworth Building, Business Insider heard from Sotheby’s International Realty.
After a five-year restoration, the 107-year-old Woolworth Building is currently selling luxury residences ranging from $2.85 million to nearly $30 million.
The 58-story downtown Manhattan tower was the world’s tallest building from its end in 1913 to 1930.

After a five-year restoration, the 107-year-old Woolworth Building is currently selling luxury residences ranging from $2.85 million to nearly $30 million.

Originally developed by that the F.W. Woolworth Company within an office building, the tower was known as the”Cathedral of Commerce” and after housed tenants like Nikola Tesla and that the Manhattan Project.

Now, while the reduced 28 flooring remain offices, Alchemy Properties owns flooring 29 and up and transformed into 32 luxury residences over the class of a five-year, multimillion-dollar renovation. The restoration job on the outside cost $22 million.

Wainwright’s new condo includes feet of living space, and panoramic views of the city skyline.

Alchemy Properties and Sotheby’s International Realty’s Stan Ponte and Joshua Judge managed the purchase.

The 34th-floor condo was listed for $7.195 million, and the closing price was $6.75 million.
