The Monterey Car Week Style Series: Part 1 – What To Wear To Auto Manufacturer Exhibits

Monterey Peninsula every August, Monterey Car Week has become
synonymous with being one of the most prolific auto gatherings on earth. From the famous Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and
exclusive VIP celebrations sponsored by luxury automobile brands to
thrilling world debuts of vehicles, there’s no lack of
incredible automobile celebrations going on during this season.

Having attended a variety of Monterey Car Week events over the
Years , I’ve learned the art of dressing for every one of those particular events. To inspire you to look your best for this season ’s auto week
extravaganza (in August 11-17, 2019), Inspirations &
Celebrations is starting the brand new “Monterey Car Week
Style Series”. Within this new show, find fashion
inspiration and style tips on what to wear to several car week
events around the Monterey Peninsula.

Part 1: What To Wear To Auto Manufacturer Exhibits

In Part 1, Learn to dress for auto
Manufacturer displays and demos. From famous manufacturers like
Mercedes-Benz and Aston Martin to innovative brand new car brands like
Byton (which produce innovative electric vehicles that can rival
Tesla), this
design manual stocks event-appropriate fashion hints and
outfit suggestions for auto displays & demos.

A Number of the auto manufacturer displays and demos are usually held
During happy hour there’s usually champagne and hors
d’oeuvres. That said — those events are
still on the traditional side (unlike a standard cocktail party), as
they feature top executives (such as the brand’therefore CEO or Head
Designer) making special presentations regarding the cars on
display (as shown below). For this reason, when dressing for one of
these events, it’therefore smart to go for professional-looking outfits
that exude class and effortless style.

Monterey Car Week Style Guide

If you plan on attending one of those auto manufacturer displays
& demos, here are style ideas to remember:

Opt for an elegant, understated outfit that is both
professional-looking as well as classy.
Steer clear of sporting over-the-top statement outfits which could detract from the attention of the display. Out of regard for your auto makers, it’s equally important to remember that the focal
point ought to be on the cars and the presenters. That’therefore why
choosing outfits that are elegant and work-appropriate are a wise
choice.
As an example, a timeless wrap
dress paired using a simple clutch
and traditional pumps
is a fantastic option.
As a more casual alternative, a posh wide-legged jumpsuit,
straw
hat, and designer bag bag (as shown previously ) exude a classy hotel wear
vibe, while being suitable for an event of this
sort.
When in doubt, keep it classy. Figure-flattering silhouettes
are ideal; however, racy, brief, or provocative cuts are
improper. Leave the rompers and bandage dresses in the home for
these kinds of auto events.
If you love flashy party dresses or statement outfits, then those
are best-suited for VIP celebrations (stay tuned… I&C will be

Monterey Car Week Auto Exhibits & Demos

With this season ’s Monterey Car Week, below are a few public auto
Exhibits you may enjoy.

Aston
Martin: Throughout the weekend, you may see the
Aston Martin Club 1913 at Sunset Center at Carmel-by-the-Sea to
view the Aston Martin cars that are going to be on display. Through the Open House, there’ll also be pros on hand to provide
information about those 007-worthy vehicles. There’s also a
Cruise-in & Car Show as well as a unique, limited-seating
outdoor showing of the classic James Bond movie “Casino Royale”
on Saturday night, being known as the “Bond Under The Stars”
event.

Mercedes-Benz:
During Monterey Car Week, Mercedes-Benz always has a large presence
in Pebble Beach. Its impressive event tent is prominently on
display on the legendary Pebble Beach Golf Links, situated adjacent
to the Beach & Tennis Club’s tennis pavilion. Here are can
see a selection of Mercedes vehicles — including the two historic cars
as well as brand new cars.

INFINITI: In
party of INFINITI’s 30th Anniversary, the brand is
partnering with MotorTrend Group to sponsor the 2nd annual Japanese
Automotive Invitational (JAI) in August 16th-18th. The event will exhibit Japanese cars in a festive and relaxed
setting (at the INFINITI Pavilion on Concours Plaza at Pebble
Beach) along with demonstrations from leading industry experts. Phil
O’Connor, Director, Marketing Communications and Media, INFINITI
USA exclaims, “As we connect audiences with our heritage, we will
also provide a glimpse into INFINITI’s future together with our trio of
Inspiration theories, which hint to a new age of bold design and
electrified powertrains. ”
