Last weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix has been the normal procession that it generally is with Lewis Hamilton clinching another triumph and extending his championship lead.
While there were a few fascinating on-track battles during the race, possibly the stand-out minute of the Grand Prix was once when Racing Point driver Sergio Perez nearly ran over a set of course marshals over the circuit.
Footage posted from the Mexican racing driver shows as any driver normally would him leaving the pit lane on the tight streets of the principality. Howeverthere was a set of marshals crossing off on the track and picking up debris at precisely exactly the same time. Perez was made to hit the brakes on his F1 car while one of them rushed in front of him and another was left standing in the center of their track to let the car pass .

Perez instantly jumped on his group radio and requested “What was wrong with those marshals? They were almost killed by me. ”
If Perez along with the two marshals weren’t fast to react as they had been, the two guys might have easily been struck by the Racing Point car.
Incidents like these serve as a reminder that it’s not only the drivers of Formula One cars who risk their lives competing. A number of course marshals are killed at F1 races across the years, such as a guy who had been struck by a recovery car at the Canadian Grand Prix back in 2013.
Following this incidentI’m only happy with the results of the day. That we can go home back . For the safety of the marshals I hope it never happens again! #MonacoGP #Checo11 pic.twitter.com/PP8Me3Frlz
