Beating a Tesla Model 3 in a hot hatch, an all-wheel drive one like the Volkswagen Golf R, requires a great deal of skill, a bit of luck and maybe some engine mods.

So, how did this Golf R Mk7 was able to stay on top until it crossed the end? With its motorist performing a perfectly calibrated launch, compared to the Model 3’so who wasn’t quick to respond if the lights turned green.

We don’t know if it was exposed to other mods, though its own 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder can defy a whole lot of updates. In stock type, the motor grows 306 horsepower (310 PS / 228 kW) and 295 pound-feet (400 Nm) of torque. This rockets it to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 4.6 seconds, as well as a top speed of 168 mph (270 km/h) using the optional Performance Pack.

The Tesla Model 3, on the other hand, is a real supercar killer in Performance guise, using a neck-snapping 3.2 seconds required for its 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint. This model boasts 450 HP and also 472 lb-ft (640 Nm) and can be driven for nearly 300 miles (483 km) on a single charge.

The activity starts in the 2:15 mark, but if you see the whole movie, then you’ll also observe another Model 3 that required on some worthy enemies.
