Walmart came out moving earlier this week in a lawsuit that accused Tesla of violation of contract along with gross negligence over issues with rooftop solar panel programs installed in the giant’s stores.

Just days after, the lawsuit was put on hold while the two companies try to reach an agreement that will maintain the installations set up and set them back into service, according to a joint statement issued Thursday night.

“Walmart and Tesla look forward to addressing all the issues and Tesla solar installations in Walmart stores, once all parties are sure that all concerns have been addressed. “Together, we look forward to pursuing our goal of a sustainable energy future. Above all , both businesses want every system and each to operate efficiently, and securely. ”

Walmart hasn’t fell the suit. The complaint is on record with New York state court. But the two parties are going to try to reach an agreement that will avoid a suit.

The suit, which is directed in Tesla’s energy system which was formerly called SolarCity, said seven fires on Walmart rooftops were brought on from the solar panels. Walmart asked Tesla to eliminate the panel programs where they are installed and also to cover damages linked that the merchant alleges stem from the panels.

Currently , a Walmart spokesperson said it is working to get a settlement ” using Tesla.

Neither Tesla or even Walmart would clarify the details of the negotiations.

The stakes are high for Tesla.  Before this month, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced a brand new rental offering for solar energy power in a bid to reboot the flagging renewable energy business.

Tesla’s share of this solar market has declined since its merger with SolarCity in 2016. At the second quarter Tesla deployed just 29 megawatts of solar installations, while the quantity two and one providers of consumer solar, SunRun along with Vivint Solar, set up 103 megawatts and 56 megawatts, respectively.

Tesla’s renewable energy company incorporates energy storage solutions and solar commercial and residential solar. The business also has a utility-scale energy product called Megapack. While Tesla still produces panels for residential use, a lot of its emphasis was on creating. It operates a company, which targets agriculture and water districts, schools, home that is affordable, enterprise and municipalities .

The business doesn’t provide a breakdown of its solar installations, making it challenging to find out whether the company is level, falling or on the rise. Language in its latest 10-Q suggests Tesla is putting a renewed effort .

Tesla said it’s operating on revamping the client service expertise as stated by the 10-Q. The business explained while its retrofit solar system deployments have diminished it expects that they increase and “ will stabilize from the second half of this year. ”
