Air France has furthered its venture with Hertz in a bid to make getting to and from the airport a simpler connection for all passengers. On Thursday, the two companies announced a brand new airport transfer service called Hertz DriveU, that takes all passengers, irrespective of class of service, either to or from the airport for an additional price.
As an airport transfer service, you can either use it in order to get to the airport before a trip or once you’ve landed at your final destination. Hertz DriveU can be found at 300 airports in 70 nations, and can be available to use before or after both Air France- and partner-operated flights. The service provides five kinds of vehicles: Standard (Toyota Prius or similar), Premium (Mercedes E Class or similar), Luxury (Mercedes S Class or similar), Green (Tesla Model S or similar) or even Van (Mercedes V Class or similar).
For pickups a motorist will greet you in the arrivals area with a signal. The price that you agree to when pre-booking is set, meaning there’s not any spike pricing as you might encounter with a ride-hailing app. Eventually, for airport pickups, drivers will wait around 90 minutes at no extra cost, depending on your vehicle reserved. The support will monitor that information In case your flight has been delayed.
Travellers wanting to utilize the Hertz DriveU support will have to pre-book around 3 hours prior to the transfer. You can cancel the service for free up to one hour prior to the pickup time that is reserved if necessary.
Best of all about the ceremony is that you ll earn Flying Blue miles through the ceremony for every trip you reserve. Members of this Flying Blue app will earn 3 miles per dollar, euro or pound invested on the Hertz DriveU service. Therefore, as an instance, if you reserve a trip from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to the Ace Hotel, prices on a date in late December start from $126. With that, you’ll make 378 Flying Blue miles, that can be worth approximately $4.50 predicated on TPG’s current valuations. In contrast to an Uber excursion on a particular day, the prices look to be with what you might expect to pay and reasonable.
Air France offers complimentary Hertz DriveU transports for La Première passengers at the airline’therefore heartbeat at Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG). In a press release, the airline said that it plans to start that service at more airports later on.
This is a wonderful improvement from Air France and Hertz to expand upon a venture to allow travelers to earn bonus Flying Blue miles for airport traveling. While the number of miles you get per ride won’t get you should you’re to utilize the service then the Flying Blue miles could accumulate.
