Elon Musk’s hosting gig at Saturday Night Live proved to be a good deal smoother than that which even enthusiastic Tesla fans expected. Musk is known for his off-beat humor along with his struggles in public speaking, but as soon as his SNL monologue began, it seemed as the Tesla and SpaceX CEO was in his element. He started his monologue strong, showing that he has Asperger’so, which he had been the first host to acknowledge it on the late-night comedy series.
Musk’s Asperger’s revelation came as a surprise for some, though some who’ve followed the Tesla along with SpaceX narrative have remarked the CEO’s antics before have hinted at this a diagnosis. That being said, it was still pretty commendable to view Elon Musk, whose personal space company SpaceX successfully launched and acquired a rocket right after the SNL incident, publicly admit to being on the spectrum.

Asperger Syndrome is a neurodevelopmental disorder that manifests itself difficulties in participating in social interactions and nonverbal communication. It doesn’t affect one’s intelligences or language abilities, though according to the UK’s National Autism Society, people who have the condition can find it tougher “specifically, understanding and relating to other individuals, and taking part in everyday living, school, work, and societal life. ”
Aside from dropping the huge revelation regarding his Asperger’s, Musk also chosen to mock a lot of his own personal habits, especially on Twitter. He poked fun at the way he became characterized as a CEO who is always high after he tried a whiff of marijuana into his first appearance at the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. Though finally, Musk clarified that while he could be odd, that’s how his mind works.

“Look, I understand I occasionally say or post odd items, but ’s just how my mind works. To anybody who’s been violated, I only wish to mention I reinvented electric automobiles, and I’m sending visitors to Mars in a rocket ship. Did you believe I was going to be a cool, normal dude? ” he explained.
While Saturday Night Live has a heritage of bringing in guest hosts from time to time, a good number of these have a tendency to keep a more passive role in the comedy. Musk, on the flip side, appeared in nearly all the live and pre-recorded comedy sketches that were showcased on the series. A few of those sketches attracted real laughs from the audience, particularly one where Musk played managing a SpaceX Mars assignment, and one where he played with a socially awkward guy trying to converse at a post-pandemic celebration.
