The company conduct by Michael Burrythe investor played by Christian Bale at 2015’s “The Big Short”, has just taken a short position against Tesla.

According to Reuters, last Monday Scion Asset Management said in a regulatory filing that it had set options on 800,100 Tesla shares at the end of Q1, 2021. The automaker’s share has been valued at $667,93 at the time, setting the worth of the company ’s position at about $534 million.

A short position is basically a bet that share prices will fall and short-sellers are commonly seen as invested in a company’s collapse. The position is very risky, however, because the possibility of losses is practically infinite.

Tesla is being seen as overvalued, providing Scion Asset Management’s position authenticity. Prices jumped over 700 per cent to a high of $883 per share in January. Since then they have gradually fallen, however, and on Mondaythey were worth $576 eachyear.

This past year, Burry predicted that Tesla’therefore purchase of credits will dwindle in the upcoming year. That has come to pass as Stellantis announced earlier that month it would no longer need to get credits from Tesla, taking away one of those automaker’s sizeable resources of income.

The company is also beset on all sides by traditional automakers that are more investing in electrical vehicles. Even though it still has a cache that is indisputable, investigations into its technologies propelled by highly publicized injuries and Musk’s waffling using cryptocurrencies could potentially harm the organization.

This public short position could also hurt investments’ view of Tesla. Michael Burry magnificently gamble against the home business and called the meltdown that place the whole market into shock in 2008.
