Julianne Moore Shares What She Advises Her Children About Their Future Careers

Julianne Moore looks stunning on the cover of WSJ. Magazine’s November Innovator’s Issue, on newsstands November 9th.

Here’s what the actress needed to talk with all the mag:

On winning an Oscar: “You could ’t even need it. It could &rsquo. It’s a marker. I remember somebody asked Jodie Foster about winning an Oscar, and she stated, ‘Oh, my God, it had been such a relief. ’ I laughed, because that is how it feels. You’ve got to work for the job. You need to like the process because you like doing it and like doing it. And yet our civilization has these competitions and these prizes…so on one hand, it feels as though, Phew. On the other hand s like, Are you kidding? Did that happen to me? ”

On counseling her kids decisions: “It’s challenging to continue to be employed, continue to perform work which interests you. I talk about that with my kids all the time. As they’re creating choices…I’m like, If you’re blessed to find something which interests you and also to have the ability to pursue it, then that’so fantastic. That’s what you want. That’s a step of succeeding in case you’do something which you truly enjoy and then you manage to get compensated, because ’s no given. ”

About Gloria Steinem, who she portrays at The Glorias: “She’s equally as glorious as you’d picture. She & rsquo; s really smart, that goes without saying, although she & rsquo; s also patient and incredibly thoughtful and tolerant. Her ability not, and also to speak to people who are different than she is and not to be rash judge is exemplary. You believe, OK, what could Gloria Steinem really do? How could she manage this circumstance? Because shersquo;d manage it superbly. ”
