While Tesla is broadly recognized as being the leader in vehicles, Porsche claims that its push into the world of EVs is not an endeavor to battle Tesla’s dominance.
While recently speaking with Auto News regarding its electrical future, Porsche development and research manager Michael Steiner said the German marque does not consider Tesla a rival.
“Although people like to play off against each other,” we do not consider Tesla for a direct rival,” he said in reaction to Tesla attempting to conquer Porsche’s EV album in the ‘Ring. “With all the Model 3, it so apparent that they are more aggressively targeting the volume section. ”
In the past, car manufacturers have confessed that Tesla’s battery technology is well past that of all businesses but according to Porsche, it’s different priorities when it comes to batteries, adding that it doesn’t expect to be the leader in electrical range.
