Production BMW iX3 Revealed, Appears To Retain KIAntroversial Grille

BMW used the ‘digital’ Geneva Motor Show to unveil the i4 concept, but the automaker’s livestream also given a glimpse of this production iX3.

Shown completely undisguised, the production version closely echoes the iX3 concept that was introduced in 2018.

It has a completely grille with accents at the floor while we could only see a portion of this front room. Unfortunately, it seems to adopt a revised version of this notion ’s ‘bow tie’ because there’s ’s black distance between the 2 kidneys, that many straight reminds of Kia’s ‘Tiger’ design grille.

We could see an EV-specific front bumper with air intakes athletic chrome surrounds. The version also has lightweight aerodynamically-optimized wheels and exceptional front fenders using a charging port on the motorist ’s aspect.

Changes from the notion are somewhat minimal, but include the elimination of black body cladding. Front end seems to feature some small adjustments, however it’s difficult to be sure at this point.

The iX3 will be introduced later this year and be built by BMW Brilliance Automotive in Shenyang, China. It will be exported to markets and question the Tesla Model Y.

BMW hasn’t published detailed specifications, but includes previously confirmed the crossover will have a 74 kWh battery pack and an electrical motor which develops 282 hp (210 kW / 286 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. The motor powers the trunk and will give the iX3 an array in excess of 273 miles (440 km) from the WLTP test cycle.

The manufacturing was version was initially expected to launch in the Beijing Auto Show next month, but the occasion has been postponed due to this coronavirus. Consequently, it’s unclear when and where the crossover will be discharged.
