Tesla Model S with Elon Musk’s favorite “Deep Crimson” paint spotted in Fremont Factory

Last July, Elon Musk commented that he is especially fond of a brand fresh paint color that could be provided for vehicles made in Gigafactory Berlin. Dubbed as “Deep Crimson,” the somewhat mysterious shade was later sighted in a Model S that the CEO belonged into SpaceX’s headquarters in Hawthorne, California.

Deep Crimson paint isn’t offered by Tesla today, with the company’s present lineup of vehicles adopting a fairly limited set of color choices. That being said, a recent drone flyover of this Fremont Factory has hinted that Tesla might already be looking to create more vehicles that are completed in Musk’s favorite colour.

At a recent flyover, drone owner Tesla Fremont Flyover captured some footage of a partially coated Model S frame. However unlike other partially-assembled vehicles around it, the Model S in question has been completed in a shade that seemed almost indistinguishable to this Deep Crimson paint featured in Elon Musk’s Model S out of last year.

Tesla’s forthcoming paint alternatives , which Musk says will probably be quite stunning in their own, are predicted to be established at Gigafactory Berlin. The CEO noted that the paint stores of Gigafactory Shanghai and the Fremont factory would also be upgraded to enable the centre to encourage the company’s new, innovative paint shop, but such changes would probably take some time as it’s hard to retrofit a centre which ’s in operation.

Thinking about the continuing challenges with the permitting process at Gigafactory Berlin, however, Tesla might be looking to establish its own next-generation paint shop at Gigafactory Texas instead. Giga Texas will also be launching with the Model Y, after all, and it’s also being fitted with the most innovative machines that the business currently uses. These probably include an upgraded paint store which ’s capable of producing exceptional shades like Deep Crimson.

Tesla hasn’t always kept a conservative paint lineup. While the company only offers five color choices today, there was a time when Tesla offered a far more expansive paint choice for its vehicles. During the times of the original Tesla Roadster, Tesla offered a whopping 13 unique colours, such as Racing Green and Very Orange, which created the small, powerful, all-electric sports car stand out. The Model S was originally established with some distinctive colours, with the sedan’s iterations being offered with Green Metallic, Brown Metallic, and Signature Red paint.
