Tesla Model Y will have a rear-wheel drive (RWD) version with over 300 miles of range

Tesla will soon be releasing a much more affordable Model Y in a rear-wheel-drive configuration that will have a range of over 300 mph.

The upcoming version could be Model Y’s single motor version for the crossover and is predicted to have an entry cost about mid-$40,000. By providing a Model Y Long Range RWD, Tesla would round out its Model Y selections with a broad array of versions that differ by functionality and, clearly, affordability.

“We have reduced prices on Model Y LR dual motor & may offer a LR single motor Y in a few months, which enhances affordability, while keeping the product excellent,” said Musk over Twitter, in reply to a question on if there was intentions to offer a 250-mile Standard Range Model Y.
