Subaru’s first EV model car will be available in 2022.
Japanese automaker Subaru just announced its first-ever EV model, the Solterra. Or, what the vehicle maker is calling “the next generation of Subaru SUV capability.”
The Subaru Solterra (a name aptly meaning sun and earth) will be built on the new e-Subaru Global Platform (100% electric powered).
“The Solterra EV brings the Subaru brand’s trusted reliability, state-of-the-art safety technology, and legendary all-wheel-drive engineering to an environmentally responsible all-electric SUV,” Subaru wrote. But other than that, Subaru hasn’t shared many details.

Electric vehicles — a tech of both the past and the future — are increasing in popularity as batteries get better and charging stations become more widely available.
Not to mention, they could lead to reduced carbon emissions with the implementation of more renewable energy. Heck, even trucks and campervans have started to go electric.
Next year, Subaru Solterra will join the rank of EV SUVs like Tesla, Audi, Volvo, Ford, and more.
The 2023 Subaru Solterra will go on sale in 2022. Its driving range, top speed, price, or release date have not been announced yet. But, you can get updates here.
