Tesla Berlin showroom attacked, damaging windows, doors, and 1 vehicle

A Tesla showroom at the Treptow area of Bohnsdorf, Berlin lately become a crime scene following a number of people decided to take it on themselves to demolish the place. The Berlin State Criminal Police Office has been investigating the episode since Sunday morning. 

Speaking with local news agency t-online. De, a police spokesman confirmed the individuals involved with the episode destroyed several window panes and glass doors at the Tesla showroom. Emergency agencies that responded to the episode also found one damaged electric car and eight that have been dirtied.

Aside from the Tesla shop, two adjoining offices were damaged during the assault. Interestingly enough, authorities noted that they’re not ruling out a possible political motive behind the event. An investigation is now underway. 

This is not the first time a Tesla place became the target of an assault. Back in October, several Teslas parked at the EV maker’s Malmö, Sweden place were set on fire at a episode of suspected arson. By the time authorities arrived on the scene, several Teslas were burning. At one point during the episode, even Tesla’s Malmö website seemed to be in danger of being caught in the blaze. 

Tesla is currently expanding its reach to the European region, with the company currently building Gigafactory Berlin at Grünheide. The centre, which will produce the Made-in-Germany Model Y, is expected to start operations sometime this season. Elon Musk has proven very optimistic regarding the project, with the CEO saying that the website will sponsor a battery cell production facility. 

Gigafactory Berlin, nevertheless, has attracted its fair share of critics. Over the last couple of months, as an example, local environmental groups have taken the electric automobile maker to court on the business ’s tree-clearing projects .
