Tesla Semi rips through Fremont Factory’s test track in new video

The Tesla Semi isn’t like conventional long-haulers on the market. It’s all-electric, therefore it does not pollute the atmosphere during its operations; it’s quiet, unlike the massive, loud diesel engines of traditional semis; also it’s amazingly quick, going from 0-60 mph in 5 minutes flat with no trailer. Such acceleration has been showcased lately as Tesla shared a short movie of its forthcoming truck on its official Twitter account.

The short video featured an upgraded version of the Semi–complete with a white paint scheme, new doorways, and renovated windows–ripping through a part of their Fremont Factory’s check track in a somewhat picturesque day. The movie is only a couple of seconds long, but it will showcase how quick the Semi is, especially as it’s accelerating with no trailer.

Obviously , the Semi accelerates like a sports car in the movie, which can be nearly uncanny considering that the all-electric truck really is a Class 8 vehicle. Very similar to additional sightings of the Semi in the crazy, the truck at the movie also featured a somewhat audible whine out of its four Model 3-derived electrical motors. This complain creates the Semi more difficult than Tesla’s other cars, but it will offer the Class 2 hauler an unashamedly remote noise.

Interestingly enough, what appears to be the very same Tesla Semi in the recently-shared movie was seen being filmed from an Model Y camera car last week. Considering that the Model Y camera automobile was running ahead of their Semi while the vehicle tore during the test track, it wouldn’t be surprising if videos of the Class 8 all-electric long-hauler are posted inside the coming days and months.

Though the Tesla Semi has delayed from its estimated launch date, reports from the electrical vehicle community have hinted that the EV maker is looking to begin manufacturing the Class 8 truck after this year. According to reports, Tesla is allegedly aiming to begin building Semi launch applicants around May 2021, together with pilot production beginning in July 2021. From the conclusion of the year, Tesla is reportedly looking to produce roughly 100 Semis a week.
