Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently revealed the rationale behind his attempts at supplying hospitals with numerous ventilators. The recommendation, that suggested the usage of CPAP and BiPAP ventilators, originated from doctors in Wuhan, China, that the epicenter of this COVID-19 pandemic.

Musk was tagged in a tweet by a follower who mentioned findings that concluded that invasive ventilators shouldn’t be used instantly for therapy of COVID-19 patients. StatNews noted that oxygen is the very first option, and if it proves to be ineffective, either CPAP or BiPAP machines would be the upcoming recommended step.

The follower ended their tweet by clarifying exactly what the CPAP and BiPAP were, so saying, “You know the ones that @elonmusk gave out, and got attacked for doing so. ”

His conversation was subsequently cited by musk with doctors in Wuhan. “When I spoke to doctors in Wuhan, they recommended in favor of non invasive. “Numbers I had been told from Wuhan were 80% to 90% mortality rate for ventilators. Those are not good odds. ”

Musk’s machines also have caught the interest of both critics and fans of this Tesla CEO. His fans his hindsight, while his critics picked apart his donations, saying that the machines were useless and a promotional stunt for some free PR.

However, Musk’s contributions weren’t a ploy for attention, nor were they all the machines. As it was, his contributions had to perform with doctors who had been working in the center of the pandemic, who recommended smaller and not as invasive ventilators.

Besides this Wuhan doctors saying that less-invasive choices were proving to be beneficial, Musk and Tesla were also in close communication with all of the over 50 hospitals that received the noninvasive machines. This step ensured that the hospitals getting ventilators knew exactly what they had been getting, and they were not caught off guard by the nature of these machines.

Musk has taken measures to help the fight against the coronavirus. After purchasing 1,200 ventilators from China and devoting them to the City of Los Angeles, Musk made it clear that Tesla would be prepared to give machines. The company is offering global transport of ventilators to hospitals need in its delivery places. Up to now, hospitals across the United States as well as some from overseas have received gifts.

Tesla has also managed to start developing in-house ventilators, that can be assembled with the firm ’s car components .
