Volkswagen has announced that not only may the ID.3 and ID.4 get over-the-air upgrades, however, starting in summer 2021they’ll receive one every three months.
“This will guarantee that all delivered ID. Versions will be kept in the exact identical software level as new cars during their whole life cycle,” said Thomas Ulbrich, the VW new ’s head of technical improvement. “Over-the-Air upgrades are also the new standard in cars in the future. ”
The OTA upgrades will be handles from ID.Digital, a newly established software group set up for this function. Early reviews of the ID.4, though, have complained that despite the crossover’s competence, its infotainment system is nearly a deal breaker. Volkswagen now says that with all these over-the-air updates it’ll have the ability to swiftly improve ID models’ software and customer’s interaction with the vehicle.
Indeed, cars made as of last week are getting ID.Software 2.1 as regular.
